Module 4: ICT resources

  • The chart about the task using a web tool: podcast.
  • The Elevator Pitch: voki!

My personal thoughts about it:

  • What did you learn? How did you learn?
Different ICT online tools to work with kids and to use some of them by preparing materials.

  • Do you have any problem?
Not this time.

  • Would you like to investigate a bit more about any subject?
Yes, investigate and use some of the different tools that are listed in module 4.

  • Which question do you propose to someone who read this post to help you with CLIL?

What ICT tools do you use in your classroom?

My final reflection about the course:

    • 3 things I have learnt: 1, planning my unit plan properly doing K-W-L, 2, how to use cooperative learning with different techniques and 3, the importance of using thinking routines in my class.
    • 2 things I will do in my lessons: 1, using an infographic and 2,different kinds of assessment as peer's, teacher and self assessment.
    • 1 thing I will continue learning about: web tools for sure!

Module 3: evaluation and assessment

My personal thoughts about it:

  • What did you learn? How did you learn?
The three different ways to assess through the creation of the teacher's rubric assessment, the peer's assessment and the self-assessment.

  • Do you have any problem?
The most difficult was the self-assessment because it's hard to compact all the knowledge of a whole unit plan in an assessment sheet. About the teacher's assessment, the most dificult items to assess were language and content to delimit what exactly to assess.

  • Would you like to investigate a bit more about any subject?
Yes! The different ways and interfaces to create rubrics very very graphic and attractive.

  • Which question do you propose to someone who read this post to help you with CLIL?

I would like to know more about online assessment tools, as Rubistar. Do you recommend others?

Module 2: Cooperative Learning and planning CLIL task

My personal thoughts about it:

  • What did you learn? How did you learn?
Some cooperative learning resources that I didn't know yet. An exemple is the Kagan structures that I found very interesting. It's an old method but It seems very productive.

  • Do you have any problem?
It was difficult to find some points at the third column of communicative skills: Language through Scaffolded Language.
Also I think it was very difficult to create an infography very complete and appropiate for my topic.

  • Would you like to investigate a bit more about any subject?
It really was the Kagan structures. They have got books that look very useful in how to lead to knowledge in class..

  • Which question do you propose to someone who read this post to help you with CLIL?
What are the most important points to have in account to create an Infography please?

Module 1: Welcome to my CLIL blog!

Here I atach the SWOT analysis about CLIL and my initial Unit plan that I hope it keeps growing and improving during this course.

My personal thoughts about it

  • What did you learn? How did you learn?
In the SWOT, I have learnt the importance to keep in mind the strenghts and opportunities, as well as weakness and threats; to be aware and try, if we can, to transform the latter into the former.

In the Unit Plan, I have learnt that the method to create a Unit plan from the 6 different steps it's interesting and useful, because it makes the path more straightforward and guarantees that you don't forget any important point.
Doing the SWOT and following the 6 steps to design my unit plan.

  • Do you have any problem?
In the SWOT, at the beginning, it was difficult for me to difference between the internal and the external issues.
In the Unit Plan, I got confused between the competences and the LOMCE standards.

  • Would you like to investigate a bit more about any subject?
For sure! Maths!

  • Which question do you propose to someone who read this post to help you with CLIL?
I love the idea to add different subjects in a same unit. The interdisciplinary way of working, it really attracts me. What is the secret to achieve?
